Printers aren't just for printing anymore. These days, printers not only print, but also scan, fax and can connect to the Internet. Brother manufactures a line of printers that fit just about every need of a small business. When the dreaded 'Replace Toner' message starts flashing, the printer is indicating that is running low on toner. This message can quickly become irritating if you're trying to run a job on the printer.

You can use the built-in toner resetting menu on the printer to bypass the 'Replace Toner' message so you can get on with your business.

I have ONLY JUST managed to fix three of these extremely simply after months of having this fault keep coming up. Open the back cover. Pull the flap down that hides the orange roller on the fuser(Careful it's Hot on that fuser!!). Locate the thin piece of plastic that runs from the centre to the right hand side. This bar is the problem.

3/4 along the right hand side, there is a sticky out bit on this bar that should sit in a hole. I have found three printers where this was not located properly.

Once I located it properly, the 'door open' error went away. I've had this error before, but forgot how I usually solve it. Not sure if I ever found the 'sticky out bit'. However, everytime I open the back to do what the error message says, I always find a sheet of paper stuck halfway through.

PTEq-1a is a digital emulation of a famous Vintage Program Equalizer. It has been developed to have all the characteristics of the original hardware, plus some additional features to increase it's versatility. Every single component on the signal path of the real analog circuit has been taken into account and modeled in the best possible way to match the original sound, keeping an eye to CPU performances and real-time playability at the same time.PTEq-1a is meant to be used as a studio equalizer for tracking, mixing and mastering inside hosts capable of VST or AU Plug-Ins support.

I manually, and carefully, pull this completely out. So, I SHOULD have gotten a paper jam message, but it always just says 'open the back cover and close it.' Ah, the wisdom of the IT Crowd (British TV series) always prevails: 'Have you tried turning it off then back on?' This worked on the Brother 7820N. Thank you so much for posting this tip.In case this helps other people:This 'little thing' is not on the end of the horizontal rod - it's indeed in the middle or 2/3 of the way down, starting from the left, traveling right along the rod. This tiny little perpendicular appendage (about 1 mm?

2mm?) points 'down' and on my printer at least, was out of a rectangular trough hole that travels parallel to your line of sight as you're looking straight into the back. The appendage needs to be placed back into this rectangular trough.Worked like a charm!!!!THANK YOU!-thankful 7820N. Thanks also for this fix!!

BUT I still have machine that will not pull the paper thru! The driver is set to 'letter', and/or auto select, there is a flexable peice a little over an inch long in center of front of paper tray, there are 2 metal pieces, look like circles, with hole in them, one on each side. A spring fell out from under there. The only 2 pages i got to print were when I pulled the paper above those two peices of metal!! Or using manual print, it will print. Machine was kind 'beat & banged a bit' by ex-technically chanllenged employee, anyone who can help would be much apreciated!!Thank U all!!

That was the fix for my 7820N too! I must have nudged that little lever out of its slot when I was pulling out some jammed paper, then, the arm slid sideways a couple mm and couldn't get back in where it belonged.Hint: use a flashlight to see where the little tab sticks out of the rotating lever arm. It's all black-on-black in there.I sympathize with ceepeejay69; I want to toss the thing out the window about once a week.

The rest of the time it's a gem. Don't get me started about manual feed and the diagonal printing that results.
